WWOW: Every Time I turn Around, God Is Making A Way

Today was a purple colored day! Why do you talk like we know what you are thinking? This is a question my children and husband ask frequently. Why do you not understand I expect miracles and having my Family Blends and Friends understand why I sing songs and shout about certain things. Today my daughter came by to see us with the words, I have not seen you in two weeks. She came with a purple scarf from her Carnival Cruise, with the words, “When I saw this it looked like something you would wear.” I smiled and ran to my closet to see what purple or red piece of clothing would work for me to wear with the scarf.

Today was one of my “well blessed” days! My daughter said “I know you are writing something about us.” Yes, I have enough material to fill a book and you all are the characters. As I move into my Midnight #prayerlifting zone, I say again to God, “Every time I turn around You are making a Way.”  If you don’t know it by now , I love to read and repeat the story of the goodness and mercy of the Lord God and my Savior.IMG_0001

WWOW: The Signs and Symptoms of Ministry

When I started Nursing School in 1967 and Seminary in 1995, I started to pour the disciplines of nursing and ministry into a bottle of medicine that I felt would help heal the hurts of selves, souls and spirits.  I looked around and 48 years had passed so fleetingly. I have started to write for my wellness. Today I need sight, sound , smell, taste and touch to make a spirit call. I am looking for the signs and symptoms  of  beautiful skies to cure my “need to get out of the house and enjoy the first spring in 51 years without my GirlMicLeslie.

WWOW: When Books Win!

#WWOW:  This has been a week where appointments have had to be canceled, Family Blends and Friends could do nothing but call to check on each other and then today there was the odor of gas in the air. I am writing, reading and doing rithmetic (paying bills) but I think I will call this a next day post and go somewhere and rest my head.

I have set a goal for a 99 word post so let me give you a quote from one of these books I am reading:

WWOW: My Monday Mission

What a blessed Sunday outing I had this week. I love exclamation points but I recently read an article that when you use them too many times in writing, they lose the excitement effect, so this will be difficult but I will try to keep them under seven in this writing. I like going to church! I have attended the same church for 34 years. I have many friends and I participate in several ministries where I serve in a leadership role. Today I have been asked to write a request for sponsorship to the Westberg Symposium because of my work as a Faith Community Nurse (FCN). In 2000 I completed my training in the International Parish Nurse Program. I was  a Research Coordinator and a seminary student so this was my Parish Practicum.  I have been blessed to lead , teach, speak, train, facilitate, guide and nurse sometime in the last ten years since earning my Master of Divinity degree. I need some help to edit and offer assistance in this proposal. If you read this or any of my blogs, will you tell me if you see the promise and purpose of my work  for the people?

I solicit your prayers as I pray and push forward in my mission with this goal in mind: I will be the better butterfly because you will have helped me pursue participation..

WWOW: Blogging for the Self, Soul and Spirit

I had such a blessed Fun day yesterday and I kept thinking of things I wanted to share with my blogging Community. I read so many interesting Blogs as I prepared for a short sleep session and also the prompt to write about the first word of the day. Well, Well, Well, The first word was Happy and the second one was Blessed. I also realized that I needed to write as if my self, soul and spirit depended on it . I share a Happy picture to give this one a WyWrap for this wellness treatment and trip

My Husband  started to talk about the lines in the sky with one of those “Why Wy” questions so I am now asking the question, “Why the lines in the sky? It also gives me an opportunity to do a #Photo101 and #Blogging201  while seeking answers for my Journal entry into “Skies of My Sixties.”

Family Blend and Friends: Change and Choice!

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Oil, Meet Water.” Today I am thinking about my relationship with a Family Blend who I sometimes find my self in awe of her attitude of WIIFM. The latest event of  this was when she called me to say she did not like finding out about family affairs on social media . She ranted on the phone about how we did not act like family and I just did  my listening trance for 10 minutes and said goodnight. Sometimes good night is all you can say so that you can handle the change and choice that family chaos brings before us. This is my “Spirit, The Encourager and Grace in the Woods”  for today as I as  make new decisions and choices for the changes that will come when oil and water meets today.IMG_0050

LORD by Bolden E. Lawson

I am so close to midnight and today has been one of the days that I just needed a word from the Lord. I have been reading some of the #Blogging201 posts and I wanted to share a poem of Prayer with written permission from Bolden E. Lawson, our friend from Chicago.                                                       LORD

LORD, on our knees this morning we pray, Deliver us from burdens we will encounter today, Through life’s bitter snares asnd tempest storms, we traveled a long way on this road home.

LORD, suffering since the day we were born, Walking in darkness you never left us alone. Father, when it seemed we had lost our way, You took our hands , guided us day by day.

LORD, when life got hard to bear, From valleys low, mountains high, You were there. You renewed our strength, trusting in your love, As you guided us step by step from above.Wy in Worship with Hands lifted 2nd row middle minister08102014

Today is the Day of Family Blends And Friends

I am planning a time out session today as I reflect on the death of my Cousin  Jimmie. I have known her for as long as I can remember because the day I was born she was 12 years old. Today she made her transition and this leaves seven of the children of the Woods Sisters and brothers born in the 19th century to Dennis and Della Woods. Our Family reunions were the beginning of Family Blends and Friends. Everyone was expected to attend somewhere in Malvern or Hot Springs Arkansas.

My cousin Jimmie was one of my sheroes as she was a businesswoman, Entrepreneur and she was a Bank officer. She cooked food so hot that we ate and drank water in the same mouthful. She was crowned queen of anywhere she went. She was the first majorette I saw in full uniform. She was the first woman I saw play pool and own a pool hall. She did not take anything off anybody and sometimes it was best not to be in her sight.  She would tell you how to get off her back and do it with her hands on her hips.I am smiling as I remember hanging out with the family, singing and dancing because she enjoyed life with the ever present Woods smile on her face.I can close my eyes and see and hear her call my name with all four syllables intact.  .She was my oldest cousin still living and now there are seven cousins left from the eight Woods children. Today is a lonely day but I am not alone as I remember all the good times of the Woods Family Blends and Friends. Farewell my dear cousin. I honor you with all the gratitude I have. I dedicate these 300 words to your memory We thank God for your example of how to live and live well!  Wy's Woods of Favor and Fruit of the Spirit
